This blog post is going to be a little different. This post is going to be about why you’ll regret it if you skip a maternity session.
Listen, I’ll be the first to admit that pregnancy is the not the same for everyone. Some women feel magical and powerful while others just want to hide for 8 of the 10 months. I get it. I practically waddled toward the end of my last pregnancy … and that was my smallest baby!
I can only speak from personal experience. I have one semi-professional (not really) maternity photo. I was due in April. We had a warm day in February so I ran outside with my 35mm camera. Yes, I said 35mm. And I took a horrible “selfie“. BECAUSE it’s really the only one I have of me pregnant, it’s one of my husband’s favorite photos. Our sons argue over which one of them is in my belly when I’ve told them a million times it’s the youngest.
Now, as a professional photographer let me give you some more reasons.
Not everyone comes in looking like this.
This is an hour of professional hair and makeup
Good lighting, fabric tossing and a little photoshop enhancement.
I can’t tell you how many women I have worked with who PROMISED ME that they were only going to like 1 or 2 images from their maternity photoshoot. And then they end up buying 30 images because they just can’t narrow them down any further.
As a photographer AND a woman, I know how we can pick ourselves apart and I want you to look HOWEVER you want to look in these photos. I offer custom retouching and I’m a WIZ in photoshop. Your wish is my command! I LOVE creating magazine style edits because there is NO REASON every day women can’t look like they belong on a magazine cover.
Another reason why you’ll regret it if you skip a maternity session is that your baby will LOVE these photos. They will cherish them. These photos will someday belong to them so in essence you’re investing in a family heirloom for your child.
And the last reason I will leave you with is that I PROMISE to make you look and feel absolutely gorgeous. I have yet to fail a client. My only warning is that I do not make it easy to choose.
