I recently had someone contact me about Elegant Couples Studio Portraits. She saw my maternity work and really liked it and wanted something similar, but in the beauty portrait genre. Never one to shy away from something I’m not that familiar with, I booked the session. Well, I LOVED IT!!! So much fun to photograph a couple that is all dolled up and dressed to the nines. Needless to say, I have now added this to the types of portrait services I provide.
We did some elegant portraits in stunning dresses and suits. We did some of them alone so that they have some head shots for their social media sites, and then we did some really beautiful intimate portraits showing the love and closeness of this beautiful couple. I wanted the images to be high contrast and have lots of shadow for a more dramatic feel so the images were done in studio using studio lighting only. I used a variety of lights to achieve the look we were going for. Photo sessions are always a collaboration between myself and the client so we spoke a lot and exchanged ideas prior to the session. That’s a very important part of my process to make sure each session is customized for the client.
I’m so very proud of these images and this is something new I will be offering to my clients. I’m branching out into Beauty Portraits as I feel that these are amazing photos that all women and couples should have. For such a long time I’ve focused on young couples just staring out their families. But I’d love to create this style of portrait for older couples who want something beautiful for themselves. What a wonderful experience for a woman to give to herself, a husband to gift to his wife or a beautiful experience for a couple to celebrate their marriage. And of course, you’ll have these beautiful portraits for a lifetime preserving this moment in time.
