I love doing outdoor maternity sessions. This maternity session took place at Smithville Mansion in Mount Holly. This is one of my very favorite locations for family, maternity, child and even birthday sessions. I can be found there from Spring and all the way into December some years.
For this maternity session we did an outfit change which is easy being that there are bathrooms on site. In order to keep things simple, mom was the only one who changed and kept the clothing color the same so that she matched dad and the kids. She requested a simple flower halo so I made one for mom and a matching one for her daughter which worked out quite nice for some mother-daughter photos.
These maternity photos were done in the middle of the day showing that we CAN absolutely do sessions in bright sun. Sometimes working close the sunset hour can prove difficult with younger children as we are limited on time. Therefor I will often book sessions with young children earlier in the day. As you can see, it made for some beautiful and bright images.
This was my third time working with this family. I had previously done a maternity session when mom was expecting her 2nd baby and then I also did the newborn session for their little boy. They were expecting baby number three and I will be blogging that newborn session shortly.

With so many beautiful images to choose from, mom and dad went with TWO collages. Collages are a great way to display multiple images from a session and tell a story.
